General Summary

The Assembly Technician is responsible for mechanical assembly, metal polishing, laser marking, and general labor tasks that support the production of high-quality components. This role ensures that all parts are assembled to specification, properly labeled, and production ready.  Ideal candidates are mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and dependable in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assembly

  • Perform mechanical assembly tasks using hand tools and fixtures.
  • Complete work in accordance with traveler instructions and specifications.
  • Accurately label components using laser marking equipment.
  • Support general production needs, including material handling and preparation.

Quality

  • Inspect assemblies and finished components for accuracy and workmanship.
  • Record accurate time and count data for tasks completed.
  • Report any issues related to parts, tools, or procedures to team leads or supervisors.

Safety & Workplace Organization

  • Follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift.
  • Ensure proper care and basic maintenance of tools and equipment.
Qualifications

Required

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to follow work instructions.
  • Willingness to learn and train on the job.
  • Basic math knowledge and ability to record accurate production data.

Preferred

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in mechanical assembly.
  • 2+ years of experience in a fast-paced job shop environment.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and reliability.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform repetitive mechanical tasks with precision.
  • Manual dexterity and coordination for fine assembly work.
  • Capability to lift and handle materials up to 40 lbs.
  • Standing, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
